Alchemy

An experimental is a large research project which explores various disciplines of a central theme or word. Different subjects of art, literature, religion, philosophy, science, etc. are pieced together like a puzzle in order to meet a specific line of inquiry usually. This project interrelates subjects in order to make a central theme applicable to our lives and perhaps more importantly, our society.
What is alchemy? Does it exist today?

Dictionary Definition:
A medieval chemical science and speculative philosophy that aims to achieve the transmutation of the base metals into gold, the discovery of a panacea, and the discovery of eternal life.
My definition: (figurative interpretation)
The process of taking the basics of anything and somehow working on them to create something worthwhile. The transformation from ordinary to extraordinary.
This can be seen occurring with ideas, metals, or almost anything and just about everything.
